I was notified of the death of my brother who was a nursing home patient in Island Park, NY. Living in Florida put me... at a disadvantage. I contacted New Leaf Cremation when I was informed of the procedure for claiming the body at the hospital. I was pleasantly surprised to learn how easily they would handle picking up my brother's body for ceremation. I was informed of the other services they could provide as well as a discount if I paid the fee by check. I provided my payment by personal check after I arrived in New York to claim my brother's cremated remains. At a very distressing time, it was extremely comforting to be served so professionally and caringly by the people at New Leaf Cremation.read more

Our family learned our loved one had just days to live and we urgently needed to make final arrangements. Margaret at... New Leaf explained the process, guided us through paperwork, and everything was in place for our loved one.We did not need to go to a funeral home as all the forms and paperwork were done online. It is at least a 50% savings, and they do a wonderful job through the entire process. They also have a great selection of urns to chose from, both Adult urns and Keepsake urns. I highly recommend Nu Leaf Creamation. From the first time I called them to the day they gave me my husband's ashes... they were terrific - they made the whole process easier than I ever anticipated - they were very patient, professional and understanding. They took the time to answer my so many questions at a hard time and they were wonderful from the start in taking care of getting my husband transported from the hospital to their facilities and to ensuring all went well with the cremation. They put his ashes in the urn I had selected and even filled some jewelry urns I had purchased without an issue. Nu Leaf made a very hard time in my life a little easier and I thank them for this. We were able to give my grandmother the home going services she would have wanted filled with family and friends and honor her request to be cremated all within one location. To describe the compassionate help, patience, attention, and financially realistic (because... goodness knows new york cremation is normally not!) that Margaret of New Leaf Cremation afforded us in the very difficult process of losing my Dad. There are no end to the positive things I have to say about working with Macken Morturary (not quite as much with the NJ location, which is lovely when you get inside) but the facilities, staff, process, and pricing at New Leaf with Margaret are the bees knees, as Dad would say! If all of what I said wasn't enough, I'll say this: I picked up the planning packet and will be making pre-arrangements for myself there with (cremation at their LI location!) In what I believed to be the worst time of my life during the pandemic, the people at New Leaf were terrific. They... called me back immediately after my mother died in Queens, NY. I called multiple other places before I found New Leaf. All other companies refused to pick up my mothers body and told me they did not service the 5 boroughs. I was devastated thinking my mothers remains would wind up in a mass grave for those who lost their lives due to covid. The gentleman who works here was so caring, he assured me that would not happen. I gave him all the details and within hours he had arranged to have my mother picked up. While I never met this gentleman and the lady who works there all I can say is thank you for what you did for me and my family. Unfortunately we could not have a service and even though we lost a lot this company gave me peace. I am extremely grateful.read more

My dad wanted to be cremated and he died not from Covid-19 but of natural causes at 83. It was the height of the... pandemic and I couldn't find anyone to pick up the body and do the cremation. New Leaf picked him up, cremated and had his ashes delivered to me. I would have payed anything as this was his last wish but I was happy it was reasonably priced and so convenient. They were the only facility to offer assistance after I had contacted a number of funeral homes and cremation services without success. I was able to make all necessary arrangements remotely which were done quickly and efficiently. When I called at 3:00 in the morning after my... husband passed away, Margaret very kindly helped me to arrange for the funeral and cremation preparations. She was kind and sympathetic even though it was the middle of the night. She also took extra time to explain the process and help me to decide on the water urn and flowers over the next few days. Her mother performed the ceremony which was customized to our preferences. My daughters and I were comforted by her words, and I know that my husband would have been happy with the ceremony. It's been weeks and no one contacted me regarding the status of my dearest Mom's case. They filled out the death... certificate incorrectly, haven't received any documentations since I reported the errors, have no idea when will my beloved Mom's remains will be processed, nobody called to let me know anything, so all together a horrible experience! They took my money immediately but still nothing! Absolutely disgusted by this company! I feel outraged and hurt that this is how they treat their clients in their hardest and most heartbreaking times.- REPLY to company: I have sent multiple emails without getting updates, never received a single phone message (as of today 09/15/2020 the last message in my voicemail is dated Aug. 21 unrelated) though I have provided the correct number, my address was clearly filled out in the forms along with all data, of which your own system generated copies that I downloaded, Michael wrote me a letter without any details, only claiming calls that I have never received, but without a single factual information in the letter regarding my dearest Mom's case, so all I can see in the reply is a bunch of lipstick put on a piggy to make her appear prettier. When I called the provided number of the company, the lady told me that Michael is actually out of state, so then I'm not sure what he found "ridiculous" about my inquiries with no email replies? Perhaps they didn't want to put down anything in writing? Who knows. But in the end I keep my original opinion as is, since I have no reason whatsoever to change it. :-/read more

Unbelievable customer service and care. Losing a loved one is difficult but it's even more distressing during a... pandemic. My father passed away of natural causes, every funeral home I called wasn't able to answer my questions or help me with arrangements. Since my father lived in Queens New York, a COVID-19 hot zone, the funerals homes, I was able to make contact with, gave me 6-8 weeks leadtime for cremation, let alone a tradional funeral service. I called New Leaf Cremations after searching the internet as a last resort; my mistake for not calling them first! I had the pleasure of talking to a young man, he was sincere and understanding. He understood the difficulties of making arrangements during these troubling times and instructed me to use their online system; easy and simple process. After filling / providing information online, I received a call from the same young man, the next day to follow up with my application and again expressing his condolences. WONDERFUL in every way.In this time of COVID, the entire sequence of managing a funeral, cremation, memorial can be... very, very daunting and emotionally painful.I was BLESSED to be referred to New Leaf a month before my husband's actual death. I started my search for direct cremation at the height of the COVID crisis; local Funeral Directors were all overwhelmed, unable to take on new clients. Fortunately, I had good guidance and New Leaf came highly recommended.From the minute I spoke to Michael Noll, my panic was quelled. He, personally, was so kind, so very patient and the service New Leaf provided so efficiently organized, I simply had to follow the very easy steps they had online.When the day came that my husband died, of course, I was in another panic. Fifteen minutes after getting the news, I called New Leaf to initiate transport of the body. It was a Sunday evening, Michael was there, working! Calm, focused, attentive.Within two hours my husband's body was picked up at the Brooklyn-based nursing home where he died and transported to New Leaf. Within ONE week the cremation took place. A week after that, Michael personally delivered the ashes to my home. Quite, quite WONDERFUL, sensitive, caring in every way. I can only wish the very best of futures for this young business. The intake phone call was very nice. I was helped, assisted and taking care of immediately which was deeply appreciated... at such a critical time. Be prepared for a great deal of paperwork but fortunately it's all done electronically which makes it convenient.After the initial paperwork is completed and payment is made there's not a lot of updates and contacting. But when I did call for updates I was treated nicely.With the virus at this time complicating everything I can understand why it isn't always easy to keep people updated but a phone call would have been appreciated. Overall excellent service.read more

Courteous, proficient, respectful and quick service. During this trying time of my Dad passing away during this... pandemic. I called New Leaf and talk to Michael he was so helpful and professional. I called him quite a few times and he helped me with my questions each time. I called them on a Thursday my Dad was picked up the next day Friday from the Morgue. He was cremated and in less the 3 weeks and got his remains. I will definitely recommend New Leaf Cremation to do business with.read more

My husband passed on 3/13/2020. I knew he was not doing well and started calling Crematoriums. New Leaf is kind,... patience , considerate and very professional. I would have paid for my own if they had a service as such.Michael brought my husband’s ashes to our home in Brooklyn because I wasn’t feeling well. I would have had to wait a week or so. The service is excellent. We were in Puerto Rico and we could do all the paperwork of my brother-in-law through... internet and they delivered the ashes to a funeral home near where we were staying in Brooklyn.
