Obituary

Pamela Kaye Donoho, 71, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in New York, surrounded by family.

Pam was born Pamela “Pammy” Jones on March 23, 1954, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Carol Ione Martin and James Robert Jones. She lived every day guided by love, compassion, and integrity. She gave of herself fully—not just to those she knew and loved, but to every soul she encountered. To Pam, strangers were simply friends she hadn’t met yet, and everyone left better for having crossed her path.

Over the years, Pam served as a secretary for several administrators at Lafayette School Corporation, ran for Union Township Trustee in Monticello, owned and operated her own restaurant and bar in Reynolds, and managed rental properties in Lafayette with care and integrity. She was a listener, a mentor, and a steady hand.

But nothing meant more to Pam than family. Her kids, Cortney Holbrook (Curtis) and Paul Wolfson (Nana), were her pride and joy—that is, until her grandkids, Ziggy and Ozzy, came along and totally stole the show. Pam’s love for her grandkids shaped her entire life.

A woman of deep faith, Pam’s devotion to God and her daily practice of prayer gave her peace, strength, and clarity. Her spirituality was not something she just believed—it was something she lived. She also believed passionately in treating every person with dignity and respect, and in the right to love whomever the heart chooses. She stood for a world rooted in inclusion and kindness.

In her strength, generosity, and guidance, Pam embodied what it truly means to be a matriarch. She carried forward the spirit of her beloved grandmother, Verna Martin, with quiet dignity and profound love. She was honest, selfless, and always supportive—the true heart of her family.

Pam is survived by her children and grandchildren; her sister, Tina Hitz; her brother, Robert Jones; and her husband, Steve Donoho.
